Welp, its all over! It’s been a hell of a week.
<overly dramatic exhale>
The campaign and supporters ended up crushing it, and raising $7257—145% of the initial goal! There was absolutely no way I thought that this was going to happen. Honestly, when I clicked “launch” on the campaign, I was pretty unsure about how I was going to get this thing made in a cost effective way, and so the high goal was a way to really cover myself and make sure I didn’t have to put money into the project myself. The really nice thing about this now is, having figured out another, much more cost-effective, less wasteful, and easier way to produce the boxes, I have an awesome cushion, which is going to let me give an awesome amount of money to the partner shelters I’ve been working with.
I have been contacted by a few people in other countries and with several different avenues of exploration, so the rest of the semester is going to be dedicated to exploring the idea of this company and evaluating if I can continue to run it as an actual business going forward. Now it’s just kind of sorting through all these possibilities, and really understanding what I want to do with this going forward—as well as fulfillment, of course! It’s time to bring it all together, get in touch with the manufacture again, and start some product work in earnest!
