Work continues! The Kickstarter launch is drawing nearer—penciled in currently for the 5th February.
That means a few things have to really get cracked on with! I’m currently in talks still with four manufacturers, and am hoping within the next week or so to be receiving initial samples from them to look at the design and test out how it comes together. I’m super excited about taking these new samples to some of the shelters and getting some new content of the cats and kittens playing in them to put on my social media and kickstarter (this will also give me some media to make my video with).
At some point fairly soon I’ll have to pick one of the manufacturers I guess, which will come down to weighing up cost, communication and services. Some of them offer additional services, which could really make my life easier (like drop shipping, etc), and some don’t—which isn’t necessarily a terrible thing, it really just means that I have to start also looking into companies which might offer this as a service (and the cost associated with it. One other important thing for me to remember in this as well is speaking to the manufacturer now about the shipping materials for the box once produced (which will basically mean making a box for the box—but at least this one can be glued, etc.
The boxes I sent out to influencers have arrived, and they posted on social media, which has been awesome as I’ve had a lot more people find me. I also discovered a cat box product which is launching on the 22nd January, which likely is a mix of good and bad for me (but does give me the advantage of looking at the price that they put for their product and give me an opportunity to differentiate).
