Crunch time! It’s the last two weeks of the semester and LOTS to do.
This week the campaign ended, raising $1030 (nearly 300% of the original goal)—more importantly, every one of the rewards sold out, which is amazing.
Due to constraints at school I won’t be producing the boxes until next week (this is a hard time to get on a laser cutter, as everyone is scrambling). I’m glad to say I have enough material left for all the boxes and some spares, as well as shipping material. Instead, I’ve been working with/ learning Backerkit to make and send out surveys so that I can get info from people ASAP, so that once the boxes are ready they can ship straight out. (Soon after writing this, I found out that Backerkit wanted money from me, and so since then I have quietly backed away.)
I got 6 boxes out to early testers this week too, including two which shipped to NY and CA, which acted as a way to tested the Pirateship experience and also to see how the simple packaging solution holds up on the journey.
For me now, there’s the slight panic of the impending February product launch, which I am now working heavily toward, which means really jumping into that design while contacting manufacturers to try and understand costs so that I can give a basic overview next week at our Fall semester final presentation. Think I’m going to get a fairly good idea of what the next box might look like.
I’ll also be handing / shipping out all my MyFiveThings books and thank you prints this week, which feels really good.
